Weekend!

Well now I have two classes standing between me and a beautiful weekend. Tomorrow I will go to Phitsanaluk to see a movie with two of my friends from Sukhothai. When some of my friends here heard I was going, they wanted to escort me on the bus. Dawww. Too bad it is a girls day. I will most likely being doing something with at least one of my farang friends here in town tonight. Not sure if it will be dinner, bar or club, or hanging and singing. Who knows! I am itching for something sweet so I think going to Smile is going to be a must. And one of my new friends has promised to take me to the French restaurant right outside of town. Yes, you read correctly. There is a French restaurant here and it is legit. And I have a soft spot for French food. And real cheese! Sounds like heaven lol. If I could walk there without it taking 2-3 hours, I totally would. And I have given some thought to actually walking it before. I wasn't quite to the point of wanting it that bad though.
Now next weekend is Mother's Day weekend so I have a 3 day weekend. My friends from Sukhothai are coming as well as one from Camp Chimichanga (this is out nickname for it because it is impossible to spell the real name and it is a small mining town). There has been a request for the waterfall. Maybe a large group of us farang can make a visit. And I will invite my Thai teachers of course. Lol oh the caravan we would make! Trucks, motorcycles and SUVs full of farang making our way up the mountain and then swimming in the waterfall in bathing suits! And maybe we can go higher up this time.

Then the following weekend is Lampang! It is full of meetings and lots of "sharing." And when I say sharing I mean hours and hours and hours of sharing experiences about this or experiences with that. Fuuuuun. But nights in Lampang are always fun. And I get out of teaching both that Friday and that Monday. I will go see my preferred massage lady and check on the kittens.

Now I know it seems like I am living for my weekends, but I promise I am not. I really do enjoy my students and teaching. The Prathom 2 students I just taught responded to me as native English speaking students would have. There is nothing like having pride for my tiny tots. Next week I will be giving my older students a project with fairy tales and the youngest ones will learn the Hokey Pokey. My department wanted me to do more fun lessons rather than strictly English lessons so I oblige. So I do enjoy my work even when my older kids misbehave. The weekends are just like mini-vacations and who doesn't enjoy a vacation?

For now I need to cage my excitement for the weekend to get through today. It is still morning! Though all my dresses are with the laundry lady so if we go out tonight I will wear my one pair of pants. My legs are covered so that is not as sinful as wearing shorts. And dancing is exercising, right? So I can wear "exercise clothes." If my clothes are there when I get home, I will wear a dress. Otherwise, exercise clothes :-)
