Typical Weekend in Thailand 55555

Well now I am laying in my bed excited for today and very pleased. The past few days have been really fun. I have two of my friends over that I have not seen in a month and we have some interesting and amusing experiences, as is per usual for Thailand.

Thursday night I spent the evening with Sham poo and we went shopping. I bought dancing heels though I have to see if I can wear them in the dance room because no shoes allowed, but sometimes if you have designated shoes for wearing just in one room you can. Then we picked up one of my friends from the bust station. After a few hours of sleep, and only a few hours, we got up and dressed in our traditional Thai clothes. I even got a 400 baht discount on my clothes, though Thai women don't have the same body shape of some farang women so that was interesting. I might have started singing "I'm a puffed up pastry" which my friend threatened to record. I felt more like I was something out of the Hunger Games.

Then we get to school. My friend was amazed at how different our schools are from each other. My teachers, more like every teacher at my school, complimented me for my Thai clothes. Then they sat me down for an hour and did my hair in a Thai way. It was Mother's Day celebration day so classes were canceled. I showed my friend around to all my students and caused a big disturbance because all the students were more interested in the new farang than feeding the monks that morning so we went and hid in my office for a while afterwards. Then we went off campus for lunch and got rained on because I wanted a crepe lol.

In the afternoon there was a children bazaar where all the students sat on mats and sold wares where the money goes to charity. It was hilariously crazy! I only was guilted into buying one thing I did not need. Clever adorable students. So finally the market closed and we could go home. We relaxed for a while before going out with two of my farang friends here. Dinner, laughter and then we visited the bar that I am going to sing at next week. It overlooks the river and just a small, relaxed place. I will let you know how it goes :-)

Then Saturday morning we pick up one of my friends an then go for waffles and coffee for breakfast. My friend only has one motorbike and was like, "Two trips?" There were four of us. "Uhhh, noooo we will do three trips." He looked at me and nodded and said okay. So it was decided that I should go first since I was only one that knew where the place was. Then I get us a table and wait for the others. It was taking a while and then I realized, out loud, that they were all going to squeeze on that bike. Three farang on a motorbike just like a normal Thai family. So when they pulled up, all together, I was laughing. Of course.

We had good conversation and tons of laughter. Then we hung out talking for hours. That evening we went to KFC and picked up stuff for a picnic today, because we are going to the waterfall today, weather permitting. So many quotes from this weekend are never going to be forgotten. I really do feel like all I have done in the past few days is talk and laugh. So yep, a waterfall today and dinner is a one year anniversary (marriage) for Sham poo. I am wondering what state we are going to be in after the waterfall. Last time I did not go on the rope swing into the river that comes from the waterfall, but the three of us are considering making a pact that if one person goes on it, we all go. We will have to see. It has rained a lot this week so we have to see how deep and strong the waterfall is. Last night it rained and my friends finally got to see that I am serious when I say that it sounds like an airplane is taking off on my roof when it rains.

So this weekend has been so fun. I only have to work 3 and a half days this week and I have decided to teach my youngest children the song Soft Kitty. I did the Hokey Pokey six hours last week, so Soft Kitty should be a little improvement. Then this week I will sing in a bar and then this weekend I get to see everyone in Lampang. Oh and I am totally going to sing a song in Portuguese at a Thai bar with a British guy. Putting things that happen here into words just makes me laugh. Now we are trying to decide what quotes will be put down and remembered forever. As one of my friends says, we may not want to put them down or else our friends will go running because they are so crazy.
