Well I had my first gig last night. It was wonderfully fun. As with most performers, the jitters get at you a little bit as the day wears on. Especially when it starts pouring outside in typical rainy season fashion and your friend only has a motorbike. But we made it to dinner, back to the house for a brief run through and to the bar for singing. It took them 15 minutes to prep out the stage and the mics but hey at least we did not have to bring our own equipment. And the electric guitar they let us borrow sounds way better than that tiny little thing we have been practicing on. Yes, there are always mistakes that happen but as for our first performance it was great and fun. One person even handed me a tambourine while I was singing. How do you use a tambourine?! Oh it is such fun!! Though for certain sections we can't look at each other or we will burst out laughing.
Just one more class and I am off to Lampang. It should be an interesting meeting, since I get to hear each other's opinions on everything Thailand. And it is also a friend's birthday so :-) and I brought my new dancing shoes. Time to break those babies in! I am a little tired tonight since I only nabbed a few hours of sleep thanks to the gig, but it was totally worth it. I would nap on the bus but I don't want to miss my stop and it is only 2 hours away and the view is fantastic. Oh! One of my friends wants to visit Lampang and go on the lazy river with me. Not this weekend of course, but looks like there is a future roadtrip coming up! Things have really picked up now haven't they?
