Not a whole lot of excitement but there are a few things to report. Like last night it was monsooning. Already when it rains it sounds like a plane is taking off in my room, but monsooning.... well it does not exactly let you get to sleep. One of these days I need to get a good nights sleep. I have had trouble getting to sleep for days now. And when I am cranky, it is difficult to be culturally respectful. Also, I think my geckos are afraid of storms. They scurry and hide in a dark corner when it storms. Last night there was a flood warning (only found out through my fellow farang friends since the news is in Thai). My area looks fine today though.
Also, tomorrow my directors will come for a visit and then I finally have plans for this weekend. Guess who is going to zip line through the jungle? And I can afford to now that my new bank card is here and works! And my electric bill is a quarter of what my friends had to pay. My apartment can be 85 degrees and it is still significantly cooler than the rest of Thailand.
So I need to pause for a second and have a girl moment. Since I am female and do not have these moments often you must forgive me. But the men here smell really good. I have always been a sucker for cologne and I have yet to smell one here I did not like. I am sure that the colognes all smell good but part of my brain is also telling me it smells good because as a whole, Thailand doesn't smell too fantastic. Okay here endeth girlie moment.
I just have two classes between me and a 4 day fun weekend. I also now know the name of the amazing mint cream that one of the teachers put on my bites. It makes even welts from these evil critters disappear in 24 hours. So I put some if it on all my bites from this weekend and see if they will all go away by tomorrow. Don't worry, I am going to bring as much of this stuff as possible back to the US. Final thing: tonight is dishes and laundry night. And if it never stops raining I can't wash my sheets. I can dry my clothes and dishes inside with my fan, but not the sheets. Well I am excited for the next few days. Looks like I need to download some more books to pass the time. I have already a few dozen books already, if you can believe it. Though I need a good nights sleep before I start The Idiot by Dostoevsky.
