Why Hello Bangkok

So I am now in Bangkok. Chilling in Starbucks. If I were a cat, I would totally be purring. I had a meal without tentacles and I have internet with 5 bars for 24 hours. I had a cinnamon bun. It is funny how you never realize the things you miss until you are presented with them. I am a quarter of the way through Gone With the Wind, which I had the random urge to read. I mean, I have given little thought of the book since I read it as a preteen, but as one of my friends said, it just shows that I am missing the South. Looks like I am a southerner at heart. I am chilling with my friends and find myself talking more than I have in the past two weeks. Swapping stories, sharing adventures. It is great.

I do not think I am going to see much of Bangkok while I am here, just because you have to walk everywhere and taxis are expensive unless you are splitting it. Looks like a good chunk of my friends are going Bangkok bar hopping tonight, but I am not sure what I will be doing instead. We will just have to see. I have only seen a chunk of the city around the hotel we are staying in, but I am pretty sure I like Lampang and Chiang Mai better. It is dirty, smelly and there are so many stairs! But I am open to changing my opinion once I see more of the city. This afternoon I have to put on a smile and play nice with some puyiah and some Americans from Stanford are going to be in the concert so yay for more Americans! Well that is all I have for now. We will see how many adventures I will have in the next two days.
