I don't normally get all girlie...

I don't normally get all girlie, but when I do I wear a tiara. Happy Teacher's Day to me! Like I said in my last post, Teacher's Day is a day to celebrate being a teacher. That meant I got to wake up late (as in 9 a.m.) and went to school at my own leisure. I got some work done in my office and got to play with the few students that came to school to see the teachers. One of them was my very own hipster/mobster child. He sat beside me and we watched YouTube videos together. He likes dancing so I showed him some of my favorite dances from So You Think You Can Dance. Then we played hand games, ate candy and played with hoola hoops. Did you know some hoola hoops break into pieces? Yeah....that got a response of "ooooo Teacher!!!" But to be clear, I was throw/rolling the hoola hoop as were the kids, but only my throws broke the hoola hoops.

Then, in the afternoon I went to the salon with some of my friends. You know, I really never go to the salon and to go with my friends and just chat, tease and talk girlie things was really fun. And even though I said flowers, guess what was put on me by my 'friends'? A tiara. But to be honest, a very cute tiara. And getting dressed up was so fun. I haven't done it in a while. Then, something super funny happened. Imagine me in a long formal, flowing gown, high heels, make up, hair done all up and in a tiara, riding on the back of a motorbike. Oh my, the stares we got. And we even had to stop at the train crossing.

So I arrived to the Fancy Party where I was seated with the other English teachers at a covered table outside teaming with food. I was informed that there was to be a talent show type deal where everyone performs and my group was dubbed English Teachers suay mak mak (very, very beautiful). So yes, I got on stage and lip synced to Price Tag and some Thai song while my other teachers danced around the stage. Oh goodness it was hilarious. No, there is not a video. Oh and my tiara was not pinned in the middle and every time I tilted my head back it would flap back and forth as if waving to the dancers behind me. And they seated our table next to a group of visiting University students from Korea, one of which I recognized from one of my Thai dramas. So yeah, I met an actress yesterday...

This morning I had a lovely conversation with myself, as I am sure my other teachers did as well since we turned in late and still had to come in to work today. It went something along the lines of: "Get out of bed!" "No." "Get your butt out of bed!" "Not gonna happen. The blankets are snuggly and I like pretending it is Saturday." "You have a lovely imagination. Noooow you only have 20 minutes before you have to leave. Move it!" "Okaaaay." But I managed to get through my classes and I seemed more awake than some of my teachers today, so all is good. And now that I am finished with classes, it is the weekend and I can lounge in my bed however long I wish. I traveled too much last month and weekends in sound absolutely marvelous. So yeah, that's all I got for you this time. Have a great weekend!
